KGC strongly condemns Rawalakot Killings

Kashmir Global Council (KGC) strongly condemns the violent crackdown and the killing of Kashmiri civilians in Rawalakot, Azad Kashmir.

Pakistan must abandon this approach and return to negotiations. The demands being made are not so extreme that a state needs to raise guns against its own people, least of all a state that calls itself the moral supporter of the Kashmir cause, and least of all at a moment when Kashmiris in Indian held Kashmir are being arrested and tortured in the thousands.

We call for an immediate end to the use of force, an independent inquiry into the deaths, the release of those detained for peaceful protest, and the restoration of communications in the region.
